Resurrection Machine is the sound of a desert hologram at twilight. It is a kind of very spicy chypre with dense resin notes, leather, incense and oakmoss. It evokes a Tabernas desert night just as it turns cold and the lone rider returns from his rounds. The follow-up to Chevalier Avant Garde's debut full-length album, Heterotopias, finds the enigmatic pair deconstructing their dance-floor hits and reaching farther back in their catalogue to produce their most eclectic and self-assured collection to date.
